C.02 — War
Combat & PvP
Fights on Meridian are decided by skill and gear, not by exploits. Here's everything that works differently from vanilla.
Cooldowns and tuning
- KnockbackWhen you hit a player with a Knockback weapon, the enchantment goes on a 2-second cooldown. Normal and sprint knockback still work, and your weapon keeps its full damage.
- Ender pearlsA 2.25-second cooldown between throws, and pearls can't clip through doors or trapdoors.
- Golden applesGolden and enchanted golden apples each have a 4.5-second cooldown.
- ShieldsAn axe that breaks your shield disables it for 8 seconds.
- Golden carrotsAlways edible, and they fill you up as much as a golden apple.
- TNT minecartsA flaming arrow can't set one off: the cart is defused and removed instead.
Not allowed
- End crystals and macesNeither can be crafted. See Disabled items.
- Respawn anchorsCan't be crafted, placed or charged.
- Pearl stasisPearls parked in stasis chambers are removed after a few seconds.
Combat tag
- Getting taggedHitting or being hit by a player tags you for 45 seconds. A bar shows how long is left.
- While taggedLogging out kills you, town claims won't protect you, riptide tridents don't work, and most commands are blocked (chat and messaging still work).
After the fight
- Loot lockA killed player's valuable drops belong to the killer for 2 seconds, so nobody can snipe the loot.
- Death costs goldEach death costs 1 gold, which goes to your killer if a player killed you.
- BountiesPut a price on someone's head, or collect one. See Bounties.
- Skills don't countCombat skill bonuses only work against mobs. Against a player, only your gear and aim matter.
Fighting in a siege? Battle sessions have their own rules (keep your inventory, no bystanders, no escape tricks). See Sieges.
